More about me

Jennifer Gennari has been a writer and editor for more than thirty years. A graduate of Vassar College and the University of Virginia, she holds a MFA from Vermont College of Fine Arts. She is the author of Stifled (forthcoming from Beach Lane Books) and Muffled, a Junior Library Guild selection and a Georgia Children's Book Award finalist. Her first novel is My Mixed-Up Berry Blue Summer, a Bank Street Best Children’s Books of the Year selection and an American Library Association Rainbow List title.
 
An engaging speaker and thoughtful teacher, Jennifer often presents at conferences and teaches at the Highlights Foundation. Her poems have appeared in The Lascaux Review, typishly, the Atlanta Review, and numerous issues of the Marin Poetry Center Anthology. She is a former communications professional with experience in journalism and corporate communications, and volunteers for 826 Valencia, a nonprofit dedicated to helping under-resourced students develop writing skills. 

Jennifer and her husband have four grown daughters together. They divide their time between Lake Champlain and the San Francisco Bay. Jennifer shares updates on reading, writing, and hiking on bluesky @jengennari.bsky.social. Learn more at jengennari.com.
